Poland's horoscope described with a forecast for the next 20 years.
Choosing the ultimate dateA
horoscope of a nation is usually set up for a date of independence
declaration or any other important event. Poland lost its independence
and was reborn few times:
- Baptism of Poland. Although
there had been a country of Polanes for some 300 years before 966, the
Polish state was first recognized by the other nations when Mieszko was
baptised. Polish astrologers use the chart of 16th of April 966 at
11:39 am, Poznan.
- The Union of Lublin. It was a formal union of Poland and Lithuania, the Polish Commonwealth. It was declared 28.06.1569 and signed 01.07.1569.
- Independence Proclamation.
In 1918, on the 11th November, after 123 years of country partition
independence of Poland was proclaimed. That was a beginning of the
Second Republic.

Communism Collapse. The Third Republic was established after the communism collapsed in Poland in 1989.
What all of these horoscopes have in common is the Moon (country citizens) in Aquarius, the most independent between the Zodiacal Signs. Aquarius' influence makes Poles to fight for freedom, democracy and sometimes anarchy. Polish knights were always demanding their opinion to be respected by the king therefore Poland has a long history of democratic elections and parliamentary debates. Multinational Poland was always tolerant for the other nations, religions and culture. Those who were chased for their opinion by enemies could always find a safe haven in our country. Unfortunately tolerant and democratic Poland couldn’t survive among their hostile neighbours whose citizens were ruled with iron fist. Our nation was always peaceful and with one exception of Russia in 1610 we never conquered any other nation. The spirit of agreement survived to our times (Solidarity movement, The Round Table negotiations) and democracy was the only natural choice when the communism collapsed. All charts for the four crucial dates for Poland are useful but we need to pick up one of the above to make astrological forecast. For further research we will analyze the latest horoscope known as the Third Republic (1989).
Rising of the Third Republic
During the 80's Poland suffered a severe economic and political crisis. The economy was devastated and overwhelmed by a huge foreign debt. Russian forces were based in 59 military bases scattered all over Poland, our international affairs were entirely depended on the Soviet Union leadership, there was the only one communist party that led the country, political and citizen rights were limited. In 1989 the communists and the Solidarity opposition signed agreement after negotiations at the Round Table. The communist party let the opposition have maximum 35% seats in the Parliament if the nation decides that in the upcoming elections of 1989. Even as a minority the opposition formed a government which profoundly reformed the political and economical system. Some astrologers suggest that day was a beginning of the Third Republic but there are too many doubts and my research proves that you can’t rely on that chart. Every day since its election the parliament voted new laws that were sweeping out the communistic heritage. The most significant one was introduced on 29.12.1989 at 22:50 CET in Warsaw when utterly important changes of the Constitution were voted. This day members of the Parliament decided to change the name of the country into Republic of Poland, the coat-of-arms (White Eagle) was crowned again after 60 years and MPs decided to remove from the Constitution articles about leading role of the communist party, supremacy of communism and everlasting ties with Soviet Union. Although the Russian troops were still deployed in our country this declaration of independence was signed by the President and became legislation on 31.12.1989 at 0:00 CET hereby beginning the Third Republic. That day everybody realised that the dark age of communism is over.
Astrological verification of the date of Third Republic
Although the name and year of the Third Republic rising is memorized in the preamble of our Constitution further research had to be done. To set up the exact date I compared two events: democratic government election and the Constitution amendment. I examined 42 significant events described by historicians in the last 15 years giving a presumption they were accompanied by significant planetary transits. Among these 42 events I marked nine of the most important and gave the accession to European Union more importance than VAT reform. Out of 2000 planetary transits I listed almost 1000 of the most exact (maximum orb of 1 degree) to each of the charts. Because some aspects (semi-sextile, quincunx) are less significant and some planets couldn’t influence the events by any means only the most important planetary aspects are marked in red:

My research proves to me that we get more precise forecast if we use planetary transits to the horoscope of the system transformation (31.12.1989 0:00 Warsaw) than to the chart of the democratic government (24.09.1989 13:05 Warsaw). Therefore it is the true horoscope of the Third Republic. Now we have to decide if it could be more important than the horoscope of historic origin of Poland.
Horoscope of the Third Republic and Poland’s origin
As it was mentioned before, the state of Poland became recognized by the other countries when Prince Mieszko (and his subjects) decided to convert into Christianity. The exact date he was baptised is unknown, we know only year 966, therefore basing on some presumptions astrologers drew a chart of this event to forecast political and economic events. The most popular horoscope date is 16th of April 966 at 11:39, Poznan. I applied the same comparing methodology as before to find out which of two horoscopes shows more matches with planetary transits. Here is the table for both of the charts:
Comparison of transits to the Poland’s Baptism and to Third Republic
As we can see the number of transits to the horoscope of Baptism is
even less than to the horoscope of Democratic Government in the
previous test. Interestingly more hits are received by the slow moving
planets what proves that Mieszko was baptised in 966
but on the other day. Personally I would prefer to forecast on the
oldest horoscope possible as it is essentially confirmed with transits
and it is easier to apply planetary progressions.
Unfortunately
it seems we can’t determine the exact date of Poland’s Baptism these
days. Let us describe the horoscope that was confirmed by research to
be the most useful for astrological forecasting. The horoscope when
date was recorded by television and archived by official gazette.
Description of the country we live in
Here
is the horoscope of the Third Republic – independent and democratic
state, respecting citizens’ rights and private property. The Sun
(identity) makes a stellium together with Uranus, Neptun and Saturn and
opposing Jupiter. This is a symbol of revolutionary times when free
Poland was reborn during intensive transformation in our part of Europe
(“Autumn of Nations”). This is also a remarkable aspect of independent
spirit of the young state (we don’t want to be quiet also in the
European Union). The Moon (citizens) is in the independent Aquarius and
conjuncts both North Node and Venus. Since the first days of
independence, as bureaucratic ties weakened down, the citizens took
responsibility for themselves and the country flourished with hundreds
of thousands of small businesses. That proves to me that a state
control in our country should be as smallest as possible to let the
people live their lives and do business. This is the way of development
(Node) and wealth (Venus). Unfortunately Venus (national finance) was
retrograde when free Poland was reborn and to get things worse it
formed a quincunx with Jupiter. That may be a reason we are still a poor country carrying a heavy national debt. Progressive Venus will
turn direct about 2029 and that gives us a hope we would control a deficit by then. The only planet that receives no aspects is Mercury
(transport, communication, media) that almost immediately turn
retrograde for 20 years of its progression. That maybe a reason of
deteriorated roads, lack of motorways, railways almost bankrupt,
minimal funds for scientific research and overwhelming (83%) pessimism
of Poles.
Mars in the third house stimulates an aggressive way of
communication between people but is also a good fuel for business and
commerce (sextile with Venus and Moon). The most challenging planet in
this horoscope is Jupiter in retrogradation (Parliament, law) sitting
in distance from all the other planets and receiving awful aspects. Our
state is missing values represented by a harmonious Jupiter:
confidence, power and tolerance. The position of Saturn (state
structure, banking) in conjuction with misty Neptun is quite weak but
hopefully Saturn receives a favourable aspect from Pluto, the planet of
transformation. Influence of Neptun symbolizes also a mysterious,
informal influence of secret services on administration that caused
many scandals in the last years. Second house Pluto is making square
with Node and Moon that symbolizes profound social changes at a great
effort. The situation of Pluto is also a sign of deep suspicion against
those who control our national wealth.
It will be proved below that a sensitive axis of the horoscope of
Poland is Jupiter in opposition to Sun/Uranus. This is an axis
gathering an enormous source of power that released by transits
stimulates important events.
The most important events of the last years
As it was said before, the horoscope of Third Republic was a subject of rectification (throughout research using exact planetary transits). Below there is a list of the most significant events of the last years and aspects to the horoscope of the reborn Poland.
21.04.1991 – Debt reduction.
The Paris Club cancelled 50% of USD 30 bln debt of Poland. Opposition
of transiting Jupiter and Saturn was in exact aspect with Venus
(budget) of Poland. Saturn that was in conjunction with Venus sorted
out many years of negligence of debt repayment, helped to open the
Stock Market in Warsaw (22.03.1991), brought us a tax income
(05.07.1991) and rigorous control of the budget spending.
03.07.1997 – The Great Flood. Exact opposition of the Sun to natal Neptune of Poland was a day when a disastrous flood begun with heavy rains. At the same day Mars went through Ascendant of Poland and formed a square to a sensitive aspect of our horoscope (opposition of Jupiter to Sun/Uranus).
12.03.1999 – NATO accession. Poland
became a member of NATO alliance when transiting Pluto was in
conjunction with Mars (defence) and transiting Mars was in conjunction
with Pluto. Opposition of Jupiter to Sun/Uranus was activated again by
Jupiter transiting a military sign of Aries. Jupiter formed also an
exact sextile with natal Venus, planet of diplomacy and peace.
27.12.2002 – Rywingate. “Gazeta Wyborcza” newspaper revealed they were demanded USD 17.5 mln from the mysterious “group that keeps the power” in Poland and which was supposed to be close to the post-communist party. This event was very echoey in Poland and abroad but what is more important it begun a revolution against corruption in administration. There was many exact aspects that day so let me list the most important: North Node (social ties) was in opposition to Mars of Poland, Sun in conjunction with natal Uranus (again the sensitive axis!), Jupiter crossed the axis of Lunar Nodes making a square to natal Pluton, Mars was in conjunction to Pluto of Poland.
01.05.2004 – Poland joined European Union. That
day Saturn was in an exact opposition to Sun of Poland which was
aspected by transits of Jupiter and Uranus (again the axis activation
with exact aspects).
02.04.2005 – John Paul II died. The death of the Pope from Poland was a deeply religious experience for grieving Poles. That day Neptune was in exact conjunction with natal North Node and also squaring natal Pluto. Sun, Venus and Jupiter were on Descendant squaring Neptune and Chiron. This time the axis of Jupiter and Sun/Uranus was activated by Mercury (square).
Doing the rectification research I skipped days of parliamental or presidential elections as they are cyclical and therefore are not sudden. However we should notice that just after parliament elections of 2005 and in the middle of presidential elections there was Sun eclipse on the Ascendant of Poland, a strong aspect that announces chaos. Not only the turnout was low but most of the citizens decided to vote for a populist parties. To get things worse two main parties who were promising coalition and reforms started to fight each other just after the elections. What is going to happen next?
The forecast for Poland
It is difficult to find statistics of Polish economy that we can rely on by means we trust American or British data. The communist statistics applied to a central-planned economy and sometimes were given a make-up. What we can see from the history of the last 15 years the most sensitive element of the horoscope of Poland is the aspect of Jupiter to Sun/Uranus, when it is activated by planetary transits. All the challenging aspects to this axis, especially from heavy planets, disturb a normal function of the state and announce crisis. Knowing the horoscope of Poland and transits on it we are able to precisely pinpoint the forthcoming events. This is a wide subject so we will just give a notice to the most important events. We are now expecting the profound transit of Pluto. At the beginning of 2008 it will ingress the sign of Capricorn which is the place of five planets in the horoscope of Poland! The Pluto’s ingress itself could be unnoticed at the beginning as the Polish economy will be growing fast that time but the state transformation will be already begun.In the middle of 2010 year (4th of August will be remarkable) we will see clearly upcoming problems and there will be a firm decision needed to prevent them. On 5th of March of 2012 Uranus will make the first square to its natal position and also Pluto will be in exact conjunction to the state Sun. People leading the country will have to make a great effort to convince the nation to follow them. The second part of 2013 (21st of July is remarkable) will be a difficult time for economy and employment. These days transiting Pluto on the Sun of Poland will be opposing transiting Jupiter. Opposition of transiting Jupiter and Pluto was always difficult for Polish economy – in 1989, 2001 and it will happen again in 2013. Year 2013 will be even more difficult as Jupiter will form a conjunction to its natal position that will make problems even bigger and more obvious. A difficult time in Poland will be similar to a gloomy economic situation of the other countries: USA (strong Cancer) or the UK (strong Capricorn). Pluto will transit the sign of Capricorn changing all of the three economies and capitalism as we know it.
Nowadays 83% of Poles is unhappy with the current situation in their country so let us hope they would be happy in 2024. Those would be days when Poland transformed by Pluto would be a completely different country. By then we will read a completely different horoscope of the future country.
